Epilepsy is a neurological disorder of the central nervous system, specifically of the brain . It is characterized by the tendency to have recurrent seizures.

A seizure is a brief, abnormal, excessive surge of electrical activity in the brain that produces a sometimes noticeable change in behaviour.

SHINE EPILEPSY SUPPORT HOW IS EPILEPSY DIAGNOSED

There are a number of resources a physician will use to determine the diagnosis of epilepsy. Medical history obtained from the patient is essential to the diagnosis. A careful description of the circumstances and events before, during and after the seizure provides critical clues in determining if the diagnosis is epilepsy
